Prosperous Pet Business Podcast

Episode #107: How to Run a Pet Business When You Have a 9-5 Job or Another Business

Marie has a dog products business on Etsy and she also wants to start a service-based pet sitting and dog walking business. She’s wondering how to go about creating a service-based business in addition to her existing dog products business.

Marie has a lot of questions about the startup process including how to start her dog walking and pet sitting business while still working her weekday job, if it’s even possible to start that business and keep her job and how to find a great administration assistant to do the tedious and confusing tasks. She’s also confused about what client newsletter system would be best for her two very different businesses.

Get a Dog Designs and Get a Dog Pet Care

Hi Kristin,

“Thank you so much. The coaching with you was extremely helpful. You really simplified what I needed to work on. Since we spoke, I have purchased the domain for Get a Dog Pet Care and I have researched and set my prices, and am working on getting a simple website built. I have researched virtual assistants and may use their help to create an email newsletter. I have also created a scannable sign-up for my marketing to capture emails. To be honest I am struggling with my day job zapping my energy, but I need the income it provides.

The value I got out of the coaching has me thinking if I could just go all in full time, it would work. However, without any other support, it's hard to take the leap. The knowledge and steps you share in your "30 Days to Start and Grow Your Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Business" book have been invaluable and I am using that as a guide to continue taking the necessary steps to keep moving forward. Thanks again for all your help, Kristin."”
