Episode #156: Revamp Your Pet Sitting Business – Or Other Pet Biz!

Brooke is a long-time pet business owner who has a large pet sitting and dog walking business in Los Angeles.

She no longer does the pet sitting and dog walking visits herself; she has a large team of staff to help her.

One of the challenges Brooke is currently struggling with is how to get new clients. She used to get a lot of new client requests but lately she hardly gets any inquiries from new clients. Understandably this is causing her stress and strain!

In this episode she will learn how to revamp her marketing including how to implement some low-cost and no-cost marketing methods to get new clients. She’ll also learn some actions she needs to take to ensure she doesn’t get into this feast or famine mode again in the future!

Hi Kristin,

Thank you for checking in. I wanted to give you an update since the coaching session.

Things are pretty scary here right now as I’m near the fires currently happening in Los Angeles!

My session with you was helpful in reassurance that our pet industry experiences ups and downs, and that small businesses will prevail despite the popularity of pet care gig apps.

I haven’t had much time for marketing since the session, but have been thinking back to the more small scale, local, marketing I did when starting out.

Now I have a team all over the LA area I can pay to help me!

Your suggestion to send out review requests via Nextdoor was very helpful. I was previously unaware that they even offered reviews on that site. I got a great response from my clients on that! I also began creating a program to print flyers specific to my individual pet sitters, for them to give out in their neighborhoods and get commission and a direct link for leads to book them.

Business was good in December; just a little short of the prior year’s December in profit. January wasn’t looking bad until the fires this week. We will see how everything pans out from here!

Thanks again,

~Brooke
