How to Effectively Work With Common Challenges That Pet Professionals Face When Working With Pets and Their People

There is a common thread that occurs for most dog trainers, dog walkers and pet sitters and that is having to deal with the varied pet challenges that arise in a given day. It is rarely about just walking, sitting or training a dog. Inevitably there are some tricky situations that arise during the course of a pet professional’s day. In this segment, Victoria addresses some of the common situations that may arise so you can hit the ground running after watching this segment (and perhaps you can even turn your clients on to some new ways of dealing with their existing pet problems too).

Please note: Victoria's interview was recorded using the highest quality online conference software available. In spite of that, you might notice some small audio or video glitches in this video. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Victoria Stilwell is the best. Love to hear her speak, I always learn something. Met her in person years ago at a dog show and she was amazing. I always refer back to her books. In your conversation with her you touched on the subject of reinforcing the training of our clients dogs with what ever method that they are using. When I get a new client, especially with a puppy, I always recommend they both attend a training class and then I always go to one of the classes to see what method the trainer is using so when I walk the dog I can use the same words and method for reinforcement. I never charge for this and found it has been very helpful and greatly appreciated by my clients.

Fabulous advice from Victoria. I’m going to get her Secret Language of Dogs book. Such a subtle difference in the standard harness and the one Victoria designed, but evidently makes a huge difference. Thank you Kristin for providing this video with Victoria.

Victoria’s talk was excellent. Thanks for providing this. I also got a lot out of Ian’s talk. I’ve had the pleasure of hearing him at APDT conferences and also at UC Davis Symposia.

    Thanks, Kristin!
